Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

I've been eating at Pizza Scene since they first moved into Main Street. Whether it be dine-in for lunch/dinner or takeout/delivery, they have always been consistent with food and service. The place is small, but they have a few tables and I've always been able to find a place to sit.

My only complaint would be that they take too long to deliver. They need more deliverymen to keep up with their popularity.

Visited them again today and not too good.of a experience. To start all tables outside where dirty. The tables had left overs and garbage. We had to throw away someone else's garbage and cleaned the table. More clients also had to do the same of they didn't want to eat standing up. The pizza wasn't all that, it wasn't even well done. Perhaps they rushed it. I ordered 20 chicken wings and they where to greasy. I think management should look in to this since there are plenty of employees there that can help out by keeping their own business clean.

It's ok food just not the absolute best where I would go out of my way to eat here. Just ok and serves its purpose. It's right outside of a busy movie theatre on a popular neighborhood hangout place. Which, is the only reason I was here and have ever been here. Except for that one time I did purposely come here but opted not to write an Yelp. My point is, the only time I will eat here is if I'm going to be watching a movie next door and, even that might change at the last minute. There are other nicer options on the same stretch to choose from. Things to note and blah, blah, blahs: * Dining Here - Good luck finding a spot to sit if the area is busy. Tables and eating surfaces are limited both inside and outside. Outside, every restaurant there shares them. Sooooo, good luck. * Parking - Main Street has lots of parking to choose from, however, you may have to walk. This restaurant is located right next to the rotunda on Main Street. There is no parking directly in front of this restaurant. * This restaurant is smaller than what you'd expect. * I like the fact that all the happenings in the kitchen area are visible. * This restaurant is not brand new. I have been here many a times already. Always, the staff is very nice, patient, knowledgeable of anything they are selling and multitask on many levels. I have never been here where the restaurant is messy/dirty. Except for the occasional tray or napkin but, someone will come-out and take care of it. * This is the same business as the Pizza Scene in Hialeah Gardens that I also have been to. This one, however, is much better than that one. Even the food can be perceived as being different.

I enjoyed the calzone with sausage and green peppers. The side of sauce was served hot and also tasty. Even though, I ate-IN, the house salad was served in a plastic to-go container with plastic silverware. This could easily be improved.

It might be small, actually it's not even a hole it's a crack in the wall, but it packs a Tyson like punch. I've been here through the years and every time I come I've never been disappointed. The pies here are very delicious, and you need to try the garlic rolls or the cheese rolls! I mean have you ever eaten something that's not good for you but you enjoyed every single bit of it until it ceased to exist ? That's how I felt about the garlic rolls, rich in oil and garlic you taste every once of it. My favorite pizza is the Hawaiian! Those thick pieces of ham along with the pineapple leaving a lust in your mouth that make you want to order another one even if your full. The service has always been great through the years and so has the food. For a small space it's in the perfect location. Next to the movie theater and shops. Therefore on weekends the teenagers can sometime flood the place after there done with the movies, but the staff moves quick and still delivers good food. Come on in, you'll like it.

Let me start off by saying Pizza scene has been a staple in my life for years. I've been going to Main Street since I was 10 & this was always one of my favorite spots to eat at. I'd even sneak a slice or two into the movies! But don't tell them I said that... Anyway! This place has the BEST Lasagna, you must try it if you go. Unfortunately, The last two times have been a tad bit disappointing. A few weeks ago, I ordered delivery, which I've done many times before. I live two miles away so it always gets here rather quick. After an hour passed by, I grew impatient and called. I was told the driver should be there any moment. After an hour and a half, I couldn't wait anymore and had them cancel the order. I pulled out of my house 15 minutes later and there was the pizza scene driver... Parked on the side of the road with his emergency lights on. I guess he got lost but nearly two hours for a 2 mile delivery? Cmon, that's insanity! We drove to pericones in brickell to kill the craving for Italian. Today, again I ordered. However I picked it up because of the prior experience I had. Lasagna was delicious as usual but the garlic buns were dry, gross and clearly burnt. I wouldn't have dare sold that to a paying customer. Not a bad experience overall but pizza scene needs to step their service up. The service used to be much better!

Service was good. Pizza had little sauce and little flavor. Just expected a bit more with a 4 star rating.

  • Jose R.

In all fairness, they used to be good. Now I find their pizza a little too thin and flimsy. More like fajita thin Pizza for dieters. So if you're old school and like your pizza -hearty, think and chewy. ....you're not going to find it here.

  • Gloria A.

Love the pizza and the garlic rolls! I used to live closer and delivery did take a while but pickup was always an option. Moved further but I stop in every time I'm in the area.

I'm sorry not sure what the rant about this place is, but the pizza is average. Nothing special about it. Try it yourself and see. Miami lakes needs a new pizza joint because everyone seems to be loving this place and I don't see it. I ordered 2 cheese slices, they warmed them up, and after I realized the sauce is plain, cheese sucks, and crust is whatever.

    (2)
  • Jeanine A.

Their pizza used to be bigger, cheesier and juicer, now is just dry and blah. They are nothing like a true NY pizza! The prize is also a little high considering the size and quality of their slices.

This place is in that large shopping center in Miami Lakes. I was a fan of this place. Friendly, prompt service. Reasonable prices. I had 2 slices-- a pepperoni slice and a pepperoni and jalepeno slice and I was pretty happy with both. The crust is thin and a little on the crispy side. The sauce is relatively mild. The cheese and topping are both fairly standard. Put it all together and you have an above average slice of pizza. I also had their garlic bread with cheese. It was good, but almost too garlicky for my tastes (and I love me some garlic). Anyways, I would definitely come back if I was in the area and wanted a slice.

Without a doubt one of the best pizzas we've had. Our favorite by far!!! We simply love the atmosphere there, also is very conveniently located next to other shops and movie theater. Would definitely recommend it!!

I have eaten at the Pizza Scene on Mainstreet in Miami Lakes 2-3 times over the last 6 months and have been content with the service and food. Their pizza's are tasty, with a good proportion of toppings and texture. They also offer a good variety of choices. My favorite is the Hawaiian and the White Tomato Basil pizza. Their garlic rolls and garlic toast are also pretty good.

  • JoCat R.

The good news is that when you have the pizza at the restaurant - its absolutely delicious!!! However, I have been disappointed the last two times I've ordered pizza for delivery. Not just have they taken an hour and a half to deliver but the pizza gets here soggy and cold :( I think that they stack up their delivery drivers so by the time the pizza gets to you it's cold. I don't think I'll be ordering again. :( :(

Wow, Miami Lakes is pretty. One of the reasons I started up the Eat Like A Local series was to explore parts of Miami-Dade that had nothing to do with South Beach and/or Brickell. It really is a big, interesting metro area if you allow it to be. What Miami Lakes may lack in nightlife, it makes up for in physical beauty (gorgeous tree-lined streets, nice parks, planned communities, and good, reliable pizza. What made me drive from South Beach to Miami Lakes for a slice? Well, the reviews spoke for themselves and pizza was pretty hit or miss around my parts so on a Saturday, there are worse things than to eat pizza in good weather. I'm so happy I made the trip. First off, the people who work here are really nice. In another part of the country, such a statement is trite... unnecessary. In Miami, it's a selling point. So, nice people. You'll want to arrive at an off-peak time and not with a whole lot of people. There's not much seating inside. Outside space competes with two or three nearby businesses, so on a busy day, you might be out of luck for seating. Come solo or get the food to go because you're going to want to get this food. Start with the garlic knots. Dripping with oil and coated in garlic, these bites are decadent, sinful and addicting. Get your own order. You won't want to share. You can order by the slice from the standards, specialty or you can make your own. I made two of my own slices: onion, bacon, sausage & pepperoni, green pepper, extra cheese. Both slices were fantastic, fresh (duh) and on a wonderfully flat, somewhat crisp crust. I also enjoyed the red sauce and cheese/type consistency. I know these descriptors sound weird but when you want pizza, don't you want to know these things? If in Miami, you should check it out, at least, once. I'm glad I did.

The best thing about neighborhood hole in the walls is the adaptability of customer service. For example, when I met up here with some yelpers for Eat Like a Local one of my choices was a margerita type slice. It wasn't on their menu, and they didn't have the soft crust but my cashier knew the ingredients and compromised with a crispy slice topped with tomatoes and basil. That's knowledge of product and trying to please a customer! Located outside the movie theater and near the shops and a cow statue (inside joke) Pizza Scene is a cool little spot for a casual slice and soda. You're provably not getting organic ingredients or the latest fancy pie, but you do get a large slice (or two - their Hawaiian one had a subtle sweetness from the pineapple) and plenty of outside tables to chat at.

I like pizzas with a crispy crust and this place most certainly knows how to do it right. We love the stromboli too, though it's a bit of cheese overload. Garlic roll is another crowd pleaser. The toppings are rather traditional, no fancy goat cheese and arugula here. I'm ok with that but I do wish they'd at least use fresh basil instead of dried ones, the flavor would be so much better!

This has to be my best place to order pizza and seeing that it's near by I always order from Pizza Scene! Negative: well they do take a very long time to get your pizza delivered and it's cold!

Once, a few years ago, after watching way too many 'Man vs Food' episodes, I decided to take a challenge here to eat an extra large meat-lovers pizza with a friend. I almost DIED! Seriously, the pizza was like nothing I imagined and while the prize seemed very enticing ( $125 and a photo on the wall) I regretted it and to this day I cannot mix meats anymore. I didn't eat for two days afterward because I felt that full. But usually, I'll stop in (despite the horrible flashbacks) and grab a few slices for lunch. Their lunch special is pretty good and the quality of the pizza is consistent. Is it the best pizza in the world? No. But its still great! This place opened up sometime during the mid-to-late 2000's and has surprisingly done well over the years. Main Street is not the easiest place to stay open in because of the Grahams' monopoly over the town of Miami Lakes and the fact that recently they have begun to take 15-25% of sales away from businesses. I'm not sure what the politics are over here, but they must be in their good graces to remain open. With the booming chain businesses opening up on Main Street, I hope this remains as the go-to pizza spot and definitely support them by coming in every once in a while to grab a bite.

The pizza does taste good but the delivery it so long. By the time you get your food it's cold. Don't like the pasta. It's always dry and they but way to much herbs.
